Learning at Franklin extends well beyond the classroom. Alongside the daily routine, children take part in visits, outings, celebrations and seasonal projects that build curiosity and confidence — and give them plenty to tell you about at pick-up.
Every Day
Group songs and circle time are part of every day. They are playful, but they are also where a lot of early learning happens: language, early numeracy and the social skills that come from doing something together.

Summer Fun Program (July and August)
Through July and August the routine opens up into themed days, water play and outings. A flavour of what a summer looks like:
- Creative and sensory days: spray-bottle art, free and face painting, cooking adventures, fruit salad and fruit shake days, bird feeders, nature frames, flower planting and scavenger hunts.
- Water and outdoor fun: water games and water-play days, picnics in the park, community walks and multi-day camping experiences.
- Movement and active play: sports day, Zumba in the gym, yoga day and outdoor challenges.
- Dress-up and imagination: fancy dress, PJ party with a movie, mis-match day and superhero play.
- Treat days: Slurpee day, lemonade making, afternoon picnics and pizza parties.
Out in the Community
Children are outdoors and on the move every day. Older children also take an annual trip to the local fire station — a long-standing favourite that teaches safety and puts friendly faces to the uniform. Community walks, park picnics and seasonal field trips fill out the rest of the year.
Family Events
Several times a year we open the Centre up and invite families in. Children perform, everyone eats, and parents get to know the other families their child spends the week with.

- Pizza parties and seasonal gatherings
Creative and Hands-On Learning
Craft and sensory work runs through the week, building fine motor skills and giving children a way to express what they are thinking about.
